About
About Water Resources Hub
Water Resources Hub is a free study library for water-resources exam prep — built for FE Civil and PE Civil (Water Resources & Environmental) candidates who want the theory explained plainly, the formulas in one place, and realistic practice before exam day.
The mission
Water-resources questions reward candidates who understand the fundamentals: which equation applies, what each variable means, and where the units can quietly go wrong. This site exists to make that understanding free and accessible — no account, no paywall, no email gate on the learning material itself.
Trust comes before transactions. Everything here is genuinely useful on its own. If it helps you pass, tell a friend — that is the whole growth strategy.
What you will find here
- Ten guided theory modules — from fluid properties and hydrostatics through treatment processes. Each module covers the concepts, the key formulas with every variable defined, a fully worked example, and the classic exam traps. Material is marked by depth: FE foundation, FE + PE bridge, and PE depth.
- A formula quick-reference index — every key equation from all ten modules on one page, each linked back to its full topic.
- Free interactive calculators — Manning's equation, Hazen-Williams head loss, the Rational method, and pump operating point. They run entirely in your browser and are meant for study and checking your hand calculations.
- Free 5-question mini-quizzes — one on each topic page, with instant feedback and explanations.
- Paid full-length practice — when you are ready for timed exam conditions, the practice quizzes offer realistic questions with detailed worked solutions.
Who makes this
Water Resources Hub is published by Katharine (also known as The Engineered Life), an independent creator of engineering study resources. The paid practice materials live on our Gumroad store at samuelreedpe.gumroad.com.
A note on accuracy
Every formula on this site is written against standard references — the NCEES FE Reference Handbook, widely used textbooks, and published design manuals — and each worked example is calculated by hand. That said, exam specifications, handbook content, and code provisions change over time. Always verify formulas and procedures against the current NCEES specifications and the references permitted in your exam. This site is an independent study aid, not a substitute for professional engineering judgement, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by NCEES.
